First off, VOTE if you haven’t already.
The New Music Seminars were this past weekend downtown. Of course we were down there taking in the sights and interviewing A&R’s and artists. Overall it seemed like a pretty successful event. But let this just be a baby step Cleveland and surrounding cities. Let this be the motivation and proof that we can be a force in the music industry. Not just in Hip-Hop, but in every genre.
And where was Lou Draws at the seminar?

Yeah its cool that these A&R's came through Cleveland and shared some information with industry hopefuls, but we all know that this will not contribute to the success of one artist from the Ohio music scene. Cause the bottomline is that they're not checking for this market. This market isnt built off homegrown support. Which means how can you make money off an artist from here? Notice who's gotten major deals or promo in the recent times. Ray Cash? Kid Cudi? Were they popping in CLE? Nope? Did they or are they getting national exsposure? Yep? So yeah this seminar was cool but if you spent more than 200 bucks to show up, you lost! You couldve put that towards a plane ticket to ATL, Cali, or NYC and got your networking on urself. Holla
Hey Trillvision! This was a great piece on a great event. Thanks for including Slick Watts. We were so happy to be a part of it, learned a ton and met a lot of great people. You can check out more on Slick Watts on his Official Site www.WattsyMusic.com
I just luuuuuvvv Lady Phab man she has this awesome energy!! Yess!!! I enjoyed this and I chopped it with Slick Watts he is sooo amazing! Yes I loved the seminar believe that!
This was clearly one of the BEST, if not the best, networking event that ever hit Cleveland, OH. If you missed it, truly be mad at yourself for being so negative about it, and thinking that it was all a sham. As the Gomez brothers said, you have to be on your grind, as nothing will be handed to you, on a silver platter. The whole entire weekend was full of opportunities, to meet with people you would probably never come into close contact with.
And, even if you weren't an artist, there were lots of networking to be done too. I'm a prime example. I'm a full-time student, studying to become an entertainment lawyer, and also, pursuing a spokesmodeling career. I was blessed to be able to exchange information with Glenn Litwak, a prominent entertainment lawyer from LA.
All in all, I just hope this created an awareness for the next event that comes to Cleveland, and that all that missed it, will be able to redeem themselves the next opportunity.
